Dream Gap

Closing the Dream Gap – Empowering Young Female Leaders Program Successfully Implemented in Antalya

ISSF (Innovative Solutions for a Sustainable Future) successfully implemented the Erasmus+ KA220 Youth Project “Closing the Dream Gap – Empowering Young Female Leaders” in Antalya. The program was designed for female young people aged 12–18, aiming to support their personal development, career awareness, and leadership skills through non-formal education approaches.

The program was carried out with the valuable contribution of 10 volunteer young leaders from Akdeniz University, Faculty of English Language and Literature, under the academic support of Dr. Ceylan Kuşoğlu, as well as the active participation of ISSF’s youth leaders. This multi-stakeholder structure strengthened the learning process by combining academic insight, youth leadership, and civil society experience.

Program Focus and Learning Areas

Throughout the program, participants engaged in interactive and participatory activities focusing on:

  • Career awareness and future planning
  • Growth mindset and positive self-belief
  • Self-confidence and self-awareness
  • Resilience and coping with challenges
  • Leadership skills and active participation

The learning environment encouraged peer interaction, reflection, and mutual support, enabling participants to express themselves freely and gain confidence in their abilities.

Impact and Learning Environment

The sessions fostered teamwork, open communication, and inclusive leadership values. Participants explored leadership as a practice rooted in empathy, collaboration, and initiative, rather than competition. The program concluded with a collective reflection and a certificate ceremony, recognising both participants and contributors.

ISSF sincerely thanks the volunteer young leaders, academic contributor, and ISSF youth leaders for their commitment and active involvement. The knowledge, skills, and confidence developed through the program are expected to have a lasting positive impact on the participants’ educational and personal journeys.

ISSF extends its sincere thanks to all young participants and volunteer trainers who contributed to the successful implementation of the program in Antalya. The skills and confidence gained through this experience are expected to have a lasting positive impact on the participants’ educational and personal journeys.

We are pleased to share that the Learning, Teaching, and Training (LTT) Activity of the Erasmus+ project “Closing the Dream Gap – Empowering the Next Generation of Female Leaders” has been successfully completed in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The training activity brought together 10 participants from 5 partner organisations, with two representatives from each institution, creating a focused and collaborative learning environment. ISSF participated in the activity with two participants, actively contributing to the exchange of practices and peer learning process.

A key component of the LTT activity was mindfulness training, which aimed to strengthen self-awareness, emotional regulation, and well-being as essential competences for youth workers and educators supporting young female leaders. Through experiential sessions, participants explored how mindfulness-based approaches can be integrated into youth work and non-formal education settings to foster resilience, confidence, and inclusive leadership.

The activity was hosted by SIRA Impact Hub Larnaca, whose welcoming and collaborative space provided an ideal setting for learning, reflection, and professional exchange. In addition to structured training sessions, participants engaged in discussions on good practices, challenges, and practical tools related to empowering young women through education and youth work.

This LTT activity strengthened cooperation among partner organisations, enhanced participants’ professional capacities, and contributed directly to the quality and impact of the overall project. ISSF values the opportunity to be part of this international learning experience and looks forward to transferring the acquired knowledge and methods into its ongoing and future youth-focused activities.
